How Do Republicans Really Feel About Immigrants?

I am not an official spokesperson for the Republican Party or for Republicans at large. But I am a Republican who rarely hears a Republican politician make a clear, succinct statement about how Republicans feel about immigrants. (Mostly because immigration discussions on TV revolve around illegal immigration and pass right by Republican’s fundamental feeling towards immigrants.) But, to fill the perceived void, here goes …

Republicans absolutely love immigrants! We really do! We absolutely love immigrants … who …

  1. Enter our beloved country legally.
  2. Remain in our country legally.
  3. Support the central values that have made America so free and so successful.
  4. Make a positive contribution to the American economy during their first generation here.

We would gladly shake those immigrants’ hands to welcome them to America! And if it weren’t for Covid-19, we would even give them a big, fat, wet kiss right on the mouth! That sums up how Republicans feel about immigrants. (Except for the wet kiss part. I was just kidding about that.)
