America and Race, Diversity of Thought in the Black Community

During the 2020 Presidential campaign, in a well-known interview, Joe Biden said to a black interviewer that if they weren’t sure if they were voting for Biden or Trump “you ain’t black.” Joe Biden clearly believed all blacks think alike (or should). This assumption also appears when politicians/media talk about the “black viewpoint” on a topic, as if members of the black community all see things the same way (usually from a liberal perspective).
